My practice moves between ancient forms of knowledge
and contemporary technologies, searching for new ways
    of perceiving and interpreting reality.

    Through installation, generative systems, mathematics
and geometry, I explore what connects human presence,
    place, memory and the invisible.

      Echoes Beneath the Veil

      A Hijab Between Source Code,
      Packet Loss, and Heatmaps

A speculative work exploring the encounter between cultural
tradition and digital systems through the reimagining of the
hijab as an interface between identity, memory and computation.

Drawing on the visual languages of heatmaps, packet loss and
digital fragmentation, the work reflects on what happens to
cultural and human presence when identity is increasingly
      interpreted through algorithmic systems.

        bringing into proximity geometry and
        computation, symbol and data, intuition
        and measurement.

        I explore these relationships through
        installations, generative processes and
        site-specific works — creating situations
in which technology becomes a means of
        questioning how we perceive, interpret
        and inhabit reality.

At the centre of this research is human
presence: what can be measured and what
escapes measurement, what can be made
        visible and what remains invisible,
what can be transmitted and what must
        be experienced.

KHEM @ IMAGOMARE — LIVE PERFORMANCE

Monday, 27 July 2026 · 22:00 · MAB · Bari Sardo

During Imagomare 2026, KHEM unfolds as a live audiovisual performance where images are continuously generated, dismantled and transformed in real time through code.

Architecture becomes a sensitive surface, light becomes an instrument of inquiry, and sound reveals the hidden rhythms of matter. Rather than projecting fixed images, KHEM exposes their instability, allowing forms to emerge, dissolve and reconfigure as living processes.

Inspired by the ancient idea of Khem—the black fertile ground from which transformation arises—the performance explores thresholds between visibility and disappearance, signal and noise, memory and perception.

A unique, unrepeatable journey through generative visuals, algorithmic composition and live coding.

KHEM @ ARCHITYPES — LIVE PERFORMANCE

Wednesday, April 22 · 17:00GG-loopVia Santa Marta, Milan

During Fuorisalone 2026, GG-loop's studio transforms into a pulsating womb: an environment to cross, inhabit and listen to, where living presences take shape through ritual performances and sensory activations.
The visitor is not a spectator, but an active part of a transformative process.

The space unfolds as an organic carousel inhabited by the Architypes: presences that embody universal qualities, each connected to the four elements and the twelve zodiac signs as archetypal maps of human experience.

--
As part of Architypes, I will present a live performance taking on the role of The Navigator.

A crossing.A guided drift.

A journey into the land of Khem — black matter, primordial ground.A field where the image is not shown, but destabilised.

The work unfolds through Medusa and Perseus—not as myth, but as operative devices.

To see without being petrified. To perceive through reflection, deviation, delay.

A process of image deconstruction, where the visible fractures into signal, residue, and matter.

With Giacomo Garziano there is a strong resonance—his trajectory between Amsterdam and Ibiza intersects with my own research in a way that feels precise, almost inevitable.

UNFOLD 2026 Milan Design Week 2026@ Domus Academy

As part of UNFOLD 2026, I will present an architectural mapping performance—a new iteration of Khem.

Khem here is not a visual layer, but a black substrate—a field where the image dissolves into matter, signal, and delay.

The architecture is not a surface to project onto, but a body to interrogate.Light becomes a probing instrument.

The work unfolds through the logic of Medusa and Perseus:to see without being captured, to perceive through reflection and displacement.

This will take the form of a live coding performance, where an image is progressively dismantled in real time—a form of iconophobic deconstruction, where the image is not consumed, but destabilised.

Fragments, inversions, thresholds.A mapping that operates as much by subtraction as by projection.

Master in Interaction Design @ Domus Academy
Exploring interaction as a living system

This week I’m working with the Master students in Interaction Design, focusing on how interactive systems can become experiential environments rather than just interfaces.

We are investigating the relationship between body, space, and computation—building projects where interaction unfolds as a temporal process, not a static response. From sensing to feedback, from data to behavior, the aim is to construct systems that are perceptible, reactive, and meaningful.

The emphasis is on developing a design approach where technology becomes a medium for shaping experience, perception, and awareness.

ONGOING LABS — INTERACTIVE MEDIA @ Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti (NABA)
Interactive systems across disciplines

Alongside this, I’m currently running 6 Interactive Media Labs across different programs:

1 course (Italian) — Biennio
5 courses (English) — BA in Product & Interior Design
1 additional course (English) — Multimedia Design 2 · Interactive Installations (Nuove Tecnologie dell’Arte)

Across these labs, students explore interactive systems as a bridge between physical space and digital processes.

We work on:

physical computing and sensing
generative behaviors
spatial interaction
installation design

The goal is to move beyond screen-based interaction, towards systems that inhabit space, respond to presence, and construct layered experiences.

Each course becomes a testing ground where design, code, and matter converge.

MASTERCLASS January 2026The Path of NumbersSacred Geometry, Hebrew Gematria & the Tree of Life
3-4 January 2026 · Aosta, ItalyA two-day immersive journey into the symbolic architecture of existence, where number becomes vision, geometry becomes map, and the alphabet reveals its hidden computational nature.

This masterclass explores the intersection of sacred geometry, Hebrew gematria, and the Tree of Life as interconnected systems of knowledge — ancient technologies for decoding reality and navigating the invisible structures that shape consciousness.

Through hands-on practice and contemplative analysis, participants will learn to:

Decode the geometric principles underlying the Kabbalistic Tree of Life
Explore the numerical values of Hebrew letters as a system of mystical computation
Understand the relationship between sacred proportions (φ, π, √2) and spiritual cosmology
Apply gematric analysis to unlock hidden correspondences in texts and symbols
Construct visual mappings between number, letter, and geometric form

The workshop bridges traditional wisdom with contemporary visual thinking, offering tools for both spiritual inquiry and creative practice. No prior knowledge of Hebrew or sacred traditions is required — only curiosity and openness to symbolic language.

Il Sentiero dei Numeri (The Path of Numbers) is not a theoretical course but an experiential laboratory where calculation becomes meditation, and pattern recognition becomes gnosis.

PRIVATE INSTALLATIONEN

You do not arrive. You drift in.

There are no doors, only transitions. No walls, only vibrating thresholds.Four columns stand like forgotten instruments, waiting to be played by light and skin.

Sound does not echo — it seeps.Gesture is not performed — it evaporates.Vision is not offered — it slips through.

Joan Thiele becomes presence-without-location,a voice that shapes air, a movement that listens.

The performance is not what happens, but what dissolves while happening.

There is no script, no score, no center.Only passages, luminous veils, and a strange sensation of having been witnessedby something that does not name itself.

The private is not what is hidden —it is what cannot be shared.

Light as a MediumMaster of Arts in Design Innovation @Domus AcademyTransforming data into impactful visual narratives
This workshop explores light as a dynamic medium for data storytelling and visualization. Students will investigate how light can be used to transform complex information into engaging, accessible, and sensorial narratives.

Through a combination of information design, data analysis, and data visualization, participants will learn to create interactive installations, artefacts, and senseable spaces. The focus is on crafting experiences that not only inform but also captivate and retain the audience’s attention.

By examining both the technical and typological aspects of light-based communication, students will gain insight into how to convey meaning, influence collective processes, and expand the communicative potential of design.

The workshop encourages creative experimentation, pushing students beyond traditional visualization methods. Integrating theory and hands-on practice, it provides the tools to present data in visually compelling and emotionally resonant ways, fostering innovation in contemporary design contexts.
